As Distinguished Scholar in History at Champlain College, investigative journalist, biographer and speaker, for many years I've tried to bring to life the rich story of America, past and present, its leaders and its ordinary people--as newspaper feature writer, investigative reporter, magazine writer and editor, college history professor, author of a dozen books, including prize winning biographies and easy-to-read college history textbooks. My research often helps the media on deadline. I speak frequently to the public. I have taught thousands of students.
